Henry’s creators believe he’s the future and I’m not about to argue with them. Davis profiled her date with Henry, the first male sex robot to become reality. Article contentįor New York Magazine’s May 14 to 27, 2018, issue cover story, writer Allison P. This advertisement has not loaded yet, but your article continues below. Set to the soundtrack of Diplo’s “Set it Off,” the virtual reality experience “aims give the public a sense of the sexual significance of this new and quickly evolving technology through anticipation, sexual attraction, identity, presence, touch, scale, comfort, daring and spatial awareness.” I have just described the ten minutes I spent last week inside Celestial Bodies, the new physically immersive Virtual Reality Gallery at Museum of Sex in New York City.įounded in 2002, along a bustling stretch of 5th Avenue, in Manhattan, the official mission of the Museum of Sex is “to preserve and present the history, evolution and cultural significance of human sexuality.” Celestial Bodies is the first exhibit of its kind and marks the beginning of a long-term investigation into the potential of VR (virtual reality) as a creative, experiential medium - and I am so grateful that I got to experience it first hand. Technology breaks, but we fix it.This advertisement has not loaded yet, but your article continues below. I strongly believe this is a server side Codec issue. The last time I was able to successfully log into SLR and play content was last Saturday.īest of luck on fixing this, I'm down for the count right now and will hold tight for a fix. I have forwarded you my user data log on 6:17 EST time. Nothing seems to work.Īlso when the blackscreen is loading and I look at the resolution, its rapidly cycling through random resolution types from 1440 to 1920 etc. I tried with headtracking on or off and toggled the H264 support on and off. This happens on every video regardless if 180, 360, 5k, 4k etc. When I open any video, regardless of what library (free, favorites, my videos, new releases, etc.) I get a 10 second black screen followed by a red X and "Unsupported Format." The app opens as normal with no issues, menus are fine. I logged into SLR using my Oculus Rift by first opening Oculus Home then Manually Running SLR.EXE. I just got out of work and was able to test this more intensely. Something has changed somewhere, and I cannot imagine what it might be. What is especially frustrating is that this is happening on videos that I have watched streaming through the SLR app in the past, and they worked without issues then.

I have installed all the codecs suggested - no change. As downloaded videos, they work perfectly. I have downloaded videos that would not stream. Using "Watch in SLR" however will give the same errors a running the video inside the SLR App on Oculus. The same videos will stream on the website without an issue. Swicthing to DirectShow has not made any difference. Occasionally, when playing a video that does actually work, the video is heavily pixellated, and usually crashes after a moment, giving the same error message. This happens on every gay/shemale video, and occasionally on straight. When I select a video in the SLR app to stream, it gives me a few seconds of black screen, followed by the orange popup message "Error P)laying Video: Unsupported Format."
